Cookie Monster
Cookie Monster is a Muppet on the t.v. show Sesame Street. His real name is Sid.He is best known for loving cookies, thats how he got his name Cookie Monster. His favorite kind of cookie is chocolate chip, and then oatmeal cookies. His number one phrase that he uses the most is "Me Want Cookies." He was first mention in a book that Jim Henson wrote about three Muppet's who loved cookies so much. But his first appearance in Sesame Street was in a show with Kermit the Frog while Kermit was giving a "W" lecture. Although he did appear rather scary to younger viewers due to the fact that he was eating the letter W. In 2006 concerns started to grow about the reason that children in the U.S. were getting too obese so early. And because of this PBS thought that some of this fault was because of the Cookie Monster and his habit of always eating cookies. Also after this all came out there where many rumors saying that he was going to change his name to "Veggie Monster" and "Brussels Sprouts Monster" but all of that wasn't true. In 2007 the Cookie Monster appeared in the t.v. show with Martha Stewart defending himself and also teaching kids that cookies are a sometime food not a everyday food.
